Kids in
College
There
are a lot of strange ideas that people have about kids in college.
The truth is that for some kids, attending classes with older students is
strange, at first, but the overwhelming majority of early college kids
that I know, didn't find it strange at all.
Where some kids may feel out of place, most do
not.
Don't listen to anyone who has not been through the early college
process. Most inexperienced people tend to repeat what they've heard
about early college entrance or they place their own beliefs in their
opinion. From my experience, the opinions formed are most often
completely opposite from the my early college experience. So, do
your own research and form your own opinions. I've
been out of college for three years now. I turn 19 in April of 2006. If
I had it to do over again, I'd definitely do everything the same.
Graduating from college at age 16 has given me an insight and freedom that
is hard to explain. Although
early college may not be good for some kids and families, it is definitely
a necessary and welcome alternative for others.
